A whiskey-voiced narrator starts speaking as the hazy images come into focus. “It’s 2010. Zeds Dead is about to play one of their first shows in the basement of a dive bar in Toronto. Behind the brick walls and the unfinished ceiling exposed wires hang freely. The air smells of booze, smoke, and sweat. A crowd is lined up outside, flasks hang from their back pockets and cigarettes from their lips. Abandoned drinks rest on the lip of the dj booth while joints get sparked in the corners.

The tiny room is packed. Nobody quite knows how to describe the music yet. When Hooks and DC start their set the earth trembles. The air becomes charged and almost sexual. Everyone goes crazy. You feel the music in your bones. Your marrow shakes. You don’t know what they will play next but you know it might just change your life. Everybody at those early shows could tell – these guys are gonna be big.”

Fast forward a few scenes. The narrator continues.

“It’s 2013. Zeds Dead is killing it. They’ve got an enormous catalogue that includes remixes for some of the biggest artists out there, and releases with the most credible labels in the game. They’ve accumulated hundreds of millions of views online. They play tours of over 70 dates to hundreds of thousands of people. Fans love their shows, critics love their creativity, and heads love their production. They’re big. Really big.”

“The date’s not important. The place is Toronto, Canada. Teenagers Zack Rapp-Rovan and Dylan Mamid are introduced – they hit it off immediately over a shared love of classic hip hop, music production, and digging through crates. They join forces and call themselves Mass Productions aka MP Records. Dylan becomes DC and Zack becomes Hooks. They work out of DC’s often smoky garage. Critiquing, dissecting and swapping samples. They grow with every tune. They get on a level where their combined sound is unified and strong. MP releases an LP of hip hop instrumentals called Fresh Beets. It’s a pivotal moment for the duo.”

With every release, Rova continues to showcase his distinct flair for

names in bass music, as well as a rapidly growing fanbase, with
plays from the likes of Chase and Status and Sub Focus, to BBC

blending new sounds with his signature style. His ability to connect

well as further international touring and the release of some of his

For INZO, there's a thrill in possibility. The Denver-based electronic artist is less concerned with labels and more with creating immaculate vibes and moving melodies. "If I could make any and every genre," he says, "I would." He lives up to that mission through luminescent synth lines that flutter through his tracks like fireflies, chest-caving bass, and wistful, nostalgic vocal samples. Through it all, no matter what sounds and styles he chooses, he has a constant goal: He wants you to feel something. "If you're crying, if you're having a fun time, if you're having an epiphany at that moment," INZO says, "sad, happy, whatever — I just want my music to be an experience."

Having last released music in 2020, INZO is currently working on bringing his new and varied experiences to life. In addition to a collaborative EP with fellow dance experimenter LSDREAM, he's preparing his solo EP, 

. Created during lockdown, its tracks are more cinematic and calmer, with lo-fi beats, piano breakdowns, and transcendent synth beams — a byproduct of his renewed focus on health and wellness. Making music itself has become therapeutic for INZO, so it's fitting that his new work reflects that cozy headspace. As much as he enjoys playing live, he especially loves the quieter, more intimate moments of listening back to a track he's made for the first time and realizing it's exactly what he'd envisioned. "I like to make music for other people to enjoy," he says, "but at the end of the day it's an expression of me."

Growing up in Chicago, INZO, born Mike Inzano, seemed destined for music. When he was 4 years old, his parents enrolled him in piano lessons where he studied classical greats like Beethoven; at 6, he chose to learn drums inspired by rock groups like Red Hot Chili Peppers. In high school, Inzano found increasing success as part of a metal band. When a potentially career-making opportunity to play Warped Tour fell through, he took it as a sign to move on, go to college, and pursue a medical career. But freshman year, he found rave culture, which pulled him back in. Instead of attending classes, Inzano camped out in the campus music studio and taught himself production, eventually leaving school behind to pursue it full-time.

For the next two years, INZO tried on different styles, hopping from soaring progressive house ("High Above") and raucous electro house ("Brocaine Camaro") to a pop-rock-electronic hybrid ("Young Heart"). In 2017, he released the single "Visionaries," a hazy track with crashing waves of bass and warm, cascading synth drops. Somewhere in its mellow ambiance and ethereal arrangements, something clicked. "That was the first time I was sure of my musical identity," he recalls. "Who I wanted to be, the music I wanted to make, the sound I wanted to capture."

Following that instinct served INZO well. His next single, 2018's introspective "Overthinker," was his most successful to date, recently surpassing 52 million Spotify streams. The bass-heavy track builds on atmosphere, sampling a speech by philosopher Alan Watts that cuts through the dreamy melodies and euphoric synth blooms with sobering musings. Then, inspired to shake up his sound, INZO flexed his range on his 2019 debut EP, 

, delivering stuttering funk on "Let It Slide," laser-charged heaviness on "Y," and blindingly bright melodies on the title track.

As INZO prepares new music, he's still keen on keeping people guessing. The tracks he's making now are more vivid, softer, and prettier, but he hints at troves of unreleased tracks approaching heavier and more experimental territory — and even more surprise collaborations. What will he put out next? With INZO, anything is possible as long as it's an experience.

During a summer full of pivotal performances in 2023 at festivals such as North Coast, Wakaan, Bass Canyon and Sonic Bloom or a coveted headlining night at Mishawaka Amphitheatre, INZO played alongside GRiZ and B2B with LSDREAM, among others while heavy-hitters such as REZZ and Liquid Stranger were airing his tracks out to their crowds.

Left inspired by the visionaries in the world, INZO started his Visionquest heading into 2024 to pursue his vision of what music can be which all starts where he did as an early producer, in the house music realm with his EP "Sidequest," via Lowly. INZO shares, "No, I am not "changing genres" or am only making house music. This is a "sidequest" by name.. sidequest by nature. I just wanted to do a project that felt fun and not too introspective."

The lead single off "Sidequest," "Bass In Yo Face," opens eyes with bass music elements then cracks the dance floor alive with a silky house drop. "Dopamine" with LSDREAM orchestrates a sonic conversation with rave energy and unfathomable rhythms, immersing listeners in his signature atmospheric enclave. Then the nonstop funky tech house tune "Funky Fusion'' defines fun. INZO will have plenty more sounds to explore and unveil along his upcoming Visionquest tour.

Founded on the intention to bring people into the present moment through sound, Mersiv is one of the modern innovators and trailblazers in electronic music today. The Mersiv Sound Project is the brainchild of Anderson Benoit Gallegos. Since 2015, the Producer/DJ has been developing a unique “Pretty Dark Loud” style of electronic music and aesthetic intended to bring forth emotion and vitality. Derived from personal experiences, his music transmits therapeutic and healing energy to listeners. Gallegos is also head curator of MorFlo Records, a platform designed to showcase those tapping into flow through art. Leading into 2021, Mersiv crossed the threshold of 2 million plays on Soundcloud and averages 170k+ monthly listeners on Spotify. This Fall, Mersiv released his debut album, Pretty Dark Loud, which delivered his full interpretation and defining moment for the Mersiv Sound Project. Through this pivotal chapter, he looks to put his undisputed stamp at the forefront of the Freeform genre.

Distinct Motive is a Canadian producer/DJ creating explorative, visceral bass music for the masses. He quickly made a name for himself with his dark and minimal production style.
Paying homage to the early aesthetic of dubstep while building a sound unique unto himself, he has put his respective hometown of Toronto on the map in international bass music circles, advocating for the original, dub-influenced side of dubstep to elated audiences across North America and Europe. Distinct Motive has gained support from many great dubstep acts/foundational figures such as Mala, Truth, J.Sparrow and J:Kenzo.
With 5 vinyl releases under his belt from 2016-2019 on imprints such as Deep Dark & Dangerous to J.Sparrow’s Navy Cut, Distinct Motive has proven to be a staple in the new wave of the deeper sounds.

Chime is Harvey Goldfinch, a music producer and DJ from Leeds, England producing bass music with a melodic twist since 2010.


Chime has released with a number of notable labels within the dubstep scene such as Disciple, Circus, Monstercat, Never Say Die, Subsidia, Heaven Sent, Firepower, Ophelia, Stratos Union, Buygore, Most Addictive, NoCopyrightSounds, Pilot, UKF and his own label imprint Rushdown.


Chime is known for coining the term “Colour Bass” - a categorisation of bass music that focuses on melody, emotion and vibrancy alongside the weight and aggression often associated with dubstep. The sub-genre aims to fill the void equidistant between dark and light that has largely been left vacant in the scene, drawing on the best elements of both sides and exploring the fascinating possibilities of fusing tonality with midrange bass sound design.

Bright glowing lights shine through dark and hazy atmospheres in the futuristic world of Dion Timmer, an artist whose roots in The Netherlands’ rave scene have helped define his uniquely colorful approach to modern bass music.

After discovering dubstep at the early age of 10, Dion became inspired to develop his own production style, featuring blissed-out chord progressions, pitched-up vocals, and faster tempos alongside aggressive and highly technical sound design.

In 2016, Neon Dion’s vibrant-meets-vicious signature began to take shape through releases on Rottun Recordings (Plug Me In and My World EPs), followed by collaborative works on Excision’s 'Virus' album (notably the innovative “Final Boss” festival staple and the much anticipated triple collab with X and Datsik for “Harambe”). Shortly after, Dion made his Monstercat debut with “Panic” and “Lost”, then letting loose an OWSLA-approved remix of Skrillex and Team EZY’s “Pretty Bye Bye”.

Within the last year his unforgettable songs have catapulted him to becoming an internationally booked headliner, and quickly landed the slot as the opening act for 50+ sold out shows on The 2017 Excision Tour, exposing Dion to over a quarter of a million die hard headbangers all over the US, all before his 18th birthday.

With upcoming collabs with the likes of Adventure Club, Snails, Bro Safari, and of course Excision, a packed tour schedule, and a pure passion for music production, Dion has accomplished more in just a few years than most artists accomplish in a decade. The future is indeed bright for Dion Timmer!
